$1/1 El Monterey product – FREE burritos at Albertsons no doublers required

1 off-1-el-monterey-burritos-coupon

Update from Heather – We posted the deal, but I’m retracting it because it’s a bit of a gray area. I hadn’t seen the coupon before this post went up and after doing some searching online I found a scan of the coupon that is apparently coming out tomorrow. It DOES say $1 off ANY El Monterey product but then it lists a bunch of products and the single burritos are not included in the list. I think this could be argued both ways – it says ANY product. It does NOT say $1 off any of these products listed.  But whenever in doubt, I prefer to error on the safe side – especially when it comes to recommending deals to you.

The fine print (not pictured) says: One coupon per customer per purchase. Good only on product indicated. Consumer Pays Says Tax . . . then the typical redemption info.

What do you think? Do you think it would qualify for a single burrito? Here’s a screen shot of the coupon that is supposedly coming out tomorrow in the Smart Source insert:

  1. Coupons.com also had BIG1 $1 off single burritos, so should work with doublers to get two free?

  2. what is El Monterey saying? And the Gig Harbor Albertson is saying that the coupon does not work for the single … but were sold out!! HMMM

  3. The way I interpret it is that the “product indicated” is ANY El Monterey product. The list below the “$1 off…” is just showing SOME of products they offer. Why would they create a coupon that says ANY product, but limit you to only what they list? That makes no sense.

    • Agreed!

    • I agree it indicates “any” and the list are just examples, however I believe the mfr did not intend the singles to be included and overlooked them.

I guess it will all be up to the cashier/store you are presenting them at.

What does it mean by one coupon per customer per purchase?

    • Hi Danielle,

Each item is considered a “purchase” so if you have 6 tubes of toothpaste, you can use 6 coupons. You just can’t use 2 coupons on the same item (unless of course one is a store coupon and the other is a manufacturer coupon). Some cashiers do not understand this, but just explain to them that a “purchase” and a “transaction” are two different things.

  6. Ardelle Gotcher says:

It is probably up to the interpretation of each store and/or clerk.

  7. Except that the picture is a multipk of burritos, not single. Hence the word “burritos” on the package vs “burrito” on the single pk.
Have coupon in front of me and am able to read fine print. I believe this is intended for use on multipks only but will be able to be pushed through, and sadly, I think most couponers won’t care. (Keep an eye out for further limits on coupons!)

    • I only had 1 coupon and could careless either way!:) I believe the coupo is a slight gray area as some of the other coupons…any El Monterey item is pretty clear. I can’t tell you how many times I have read the blogs of people of this same issue.

  8. I went to Albertsons today and used the coupon it scanned with no issues also I brought it to the frot counter an spoke to the manager he said it states any product and also has a picture of the single burrito on coupon. From what we could see! So he said it was fine!
