Went to QFC tonight to score some of the FREE Betty Crocker potatoes that I reported about earlier today. I ended up getting 21 boxes of potatoes, 10 boxes of pasta and two packages of tortillas for a profit of $5.90. Here’s how I did it:
Before heading out to the store, I printed off as many coupons as I could for the Betty Crocker potatoes. There are many links out there right now. You can generally print two per computer (just hit the back button):
$0.40 from Coupons.com
$1/2 Printable IE
$1/2 Printable FF
$0.40 from smartsource.com
$0.40 from boxtops4education.com
$0.40 from bettycrocker.com
Once at the store I bought Betty Crocker potatoes in groups of three. I ended up doing seven transactions, starting with one to make sure it worked and then doing a couple at a time. (I always ask the cashier before doing multiple transactions if it’s okay, it always seems to be, and I let people go ahead of me if they only have a couple items.)
I was lucky to find a few boxes of potatoes with peelie coupons for $1/2 potatoes!
So I did a couple transactions that looked like this:
Buy three of Betty Crocker potatoes @ $1 each =$3
Buy three of them for $3
Use one (1) $1/2 peelie coupon
Use one (1) $0.40/1 printable coupon
Final price – $1.60
Get a catalina for $3 off your next order!!
Because this transaction total is only $1.60, I couldn’t use a $3 catalina to pay for it. Your total has to be at least $3 to use those, so to reduce my out of pocket and use some of my $3 catalinas I did a couple transactions like this:
Buy three of Betty Crocker potatoes @ $1 each =$3
Use one (1) $1/2 peelie coupon
Use one (1) $0.40/1 printable coupon
Buy four boxes of Barilla pasta @ $1 each =$4
Use two (2) $1/2 Barilla pasta coupon from 3/7 SS
Total = $3.60
Paid with $3 catalina
Total out of pocket = $0.60 cents
Received $3 catalina for next order!
To make the deal even sweeter, I bought boxes of potatoes that had additional coupons on the back!
They had different coupons on the different varieties – so make sure and look for the specially marked boxes!
The mission tortillas were $1 and I had $1/1 coupons so FREE!
In the end I spent $12.10 out of pocket and I have $18 in catalinas to spend, so a profit of $5.90. There were TONS in stock, both on the shelves and they even had bins full of the potatoes near the front entrances (this is at the QFC off Yelm Highway in Lacey). Even thought it looks like I got a lot, I didn’t even make a dent in their stock – so go buy some! The catalina runs through Sunday April 18.
If even you don’t have any coupons they are FREE. This is a great deal to do because you can donate these to the food bank or friends and family!
Make sure and check out the other deals going on right now at QFC!

Thanks! Great deal. I feel kind of greedy doing these too many times, but I got 12 tonight and maybe I will go back for more tomorrow.
