Albertsons – Watch your receipt for $2 surveys!

I posted about this last year, but wanted to remind you to check the bottom of your Albertsons receipts for a survey offer! They are easy to spot because they have a bar code. All you have to do is call the phone number on the receipt and answer a few questions. You’ll get a validation code to enter on your receipt and it becomes a $2 coupon! You can use it for anything in the store! I love it.

Couple things to know:

  • The stores are honestly graded on these – so take your time to answer them honestly and effectively. If you store is coupon-friendly and you get the option to leave a verbal comment, make sure and commend them on being so coupon friendly! If they aren’t, share that information too. The stores all compete to get the best customer service ratings – so these really do matter!
  • The surveys are randomly generated. I generally get one every six transactions or so.
  • You HAVE to call within 7 days or the offer is no longer valid. I just let one expire in my purse and it was like throwing away $2, boohoo!
  • I generally only have to answer three multiple-choice questions, taking less than two minutes. Sometimes the survey is more involved and can take 3-4 minutes.
  • Once you take the survey there is no expiration date, but I put mine in my wallet with my cash, so I remember to use it at my next shopping trip. Don’t want to lose it.
  • It says certain purchase restrictions but doesn’t specify what those might be. It’s probably things like alcohol or lotto tickets. On a general grocery bill you shouldn’t have a problem using it, I’ve never had problems using it.
  • They do say “limit one per customer” so you can only redeem one per transaction.
  • They can’t give you back change, so if your total is under $2, hold on to this “coupon” and use it when you have at least a $2 total.
  • They are effective immediately after you get your validation code. So if I get a survey on a transaction and I have plans to do additional transactions (maybe with doublers?) I’ll actually call the survey in from my cell phone, while I’m in the store. That way, I can save on my next transaction and lower my out of pocket. Don’t call from the checkout line – you don’t want to hold things up, but if you’re shopping in the store, just call on your cell phone while you shop. Is that cheap or what?

Any other tips or tricks I’m missing about these nifty surveys?
