Thanks to Celia who let me know about some awesome clearance deals she found at Target. Like this Special Edition Toy Story 3 LeapFrog book – which is normally $40, on sale for only $19.98!
PLUS Celia used the $10 Target Leapster Tag coupon that be found in the Target toy coupon booklet (which is in stores, look for display in toy aisle, or you can print it online), PLUS use this $5 off any Leapster Tag reading system manufacturer coupon – so she paid only $4.98!
She also reported these great clearance deals:
Swiss Miss milk chocolate hot cocoa – $0.97
On temporary price reduction
Use $1/1 from Safeway Thanksgiving coupon booklet
Final price = FREE!
Listerine Zero – $2.48
Use $2/1 coupon from 9/19/10 Red Plum
Or use $1/1 coupon from 10/10/10 Red Plum
Final price = as low as $0.48 cents!
Please note – Target clearance varies by store! Your store may or may not have this item on clearance. I wouldn’t make a special trip or drop everything to run out and get this deal because it’s not guaranteed that you’ll find this. I guess someone went to a Target after I posted about the Baby Alive deal and was really mad they didn’t have any on clearance and she told them she saw it on Queen Bee Coupons (so it must be fact, right?). So I ended up getting an e-mail from a poor Target employee (who was given a really hard time) telling me to be clear – TARGET CLEARANCE VARIES BY STORE. Be nice to local Target store, it’s not their fault if they don’t have this on clearance.
If you find a great deal on clearance at your local Target (or any store really) – send me an e-mail at heather @ queenbeecoupons (dot) com. (remove spaces). I’ll credit you for finding the deal and other Queen Bee readers will be grateful!
(Thanks, Celia!)

I was also at the Bonney Lake Target tonight. I, like the others have mentioned, am extremely frustrated. They were obnoxious (at best) about this scenario and would not accept the Target coupon. First the woman (who was called over by the cashier who told me they “had this problem several times today”)told me the reason that the $10 off Target coupon wasn’t working was because my purchase was not of a Tag Reading System. When I tried to explain to her that, yes- indeed this was a Reading System and here’s why…. she then changed her tune and tried to tell me that the reason the coupon wasn’t working was because the item had to be the exact item pictured…..and that it was “obvious”. Then, when I told her that, no, it wasn’t “obvious” she came up with: “it’s a Special Edition you’re trying to buy…that’s why it won’t work”… I then spoke to the manager who gave me a fourth song and dance…this time the reason was because I was trying to buy a Tag Junior, not a regular Tag. I said ok- that’s fair…if that’s actually the case. If I go back and pick up a full price Tag Junior Reading System, bring it back to the register and then once again use this coupon….you’re telling me this coupon will not work…because I am buying a Tag Junior?
Here’s the problem I have with these clerks- including the managers: I’m all for playing fair. If the fine print says no…fine. It’s when these employees start making things up on the fly that I have an issue. Don’t misrepresent that of which you have no idea. Educate yourself and for the love of Target….please educate your employees. Manufacturers and retailers issue coupons for very specific reasons least of which is to see how peeved they can make their consumers- their bread and butter. I am sick and tired of hearing from friends or reading posts about people feeling as if they are being treated like criminals for whipping out a coupon- or stacked coupons. Or stressing out about having to have a conversation with a manager…holding a line up, etc. We simply should not have to flash our Target coupon policy. It is their job to be 100% knowledgeable. When they are not- it is not up to them to debate us with ridiculous nonsense just because they can. I can guarantee that this is not what LeapFrog execs envision as they tackle their marketing plans. Especially in this economy. I am quite sure today’s Target employee behavior is not what LeapFrog would consider acceptable let alone productive.
I truly disagree with couponers that say not to rock the boat..be pleasant and walk away or we risk losing our privileges. I think there is a line. And I certainly donāt think it is our privilege to lose. The manufacturers are privileged that we are honoring their brands and that we are taking the time to cut the coupons in the first place. As far as these Target type incidents go- we donāt need to be nasty- but we need to be persistent and firm with these clerks and/or customer service. If we all just take it from these people there comes a point where frustration sets in and we donāt want to coupon anymore. That, in and of itself is leading ourselves down a path of no-more-coupons. These manufacturers want us. And they want us to use their coupons. They do not want an uneducated mass of coupon-hater-clerks representing their brands or their deals. Believe that. The back-scratching goes both ways with these corporations. Target would be little if nothing if it didnāt carry Fisher Priceā¦Little Tikesā¦.Hasbroā¦LeapFrog..the list goes on. It is in their best interest to accept the marketing of their national brands as well asā¦now this is āobviousāā¦their OWN marketing as well!?! Please.

Just called and put one on hold at the Northgate store. For those in the Seattle area, Everett, Lynnwood, and Lake Stevens are out. I hope Northgate honors the coupons!!

I was able to buy 3 at Northgate without a problem. The target coupon wouldn’t work right away, but they overrode the error code and accepted it. I think they still had 3 or 4 left.

The Target in Lacey, WA does not have any. In fact a couple associates told me that they have NEVER carried it and all the Toy Story 3 stuff is still very new and not scheduled to go on clearance any time soon. But the regular LeapPad Tag Jr was $29.00 so it would be 1/2 off with the coupons.
Heather says
Nicole, that’s not accurate because that is where Celia found the one pictured! They had two when she found it. So they did stock them and clearance them.
Nicole says
What!!!! Well go figure. that is just my luck. Sorry everyone for the incorrect post!! š
Heather says
Oh Nicole, don’t apologize – it wasn’t your fault, it was Targets!

I was able to get the deal at our Target in Cleveland, TN!! Thanks for posting the deal!!

Bonney lake had them and refused to honor either coupon! I was told that I was trying to rip off Target. The store manager came over and was even worse. I asked if we could check the coupon policy and he (store manager) said they didn’t have one handy. So I pulled it up on my iPad and he said my coupons didn’t match the product. They refused either coupon. Very disappointing!
Heather says
Lisa – Sorry to hear you had such trouble, can you try a different Target?
nat says
Lisa I’m sorry to hear about your horrible experience. I’m also up in Bonney Lake but I’m still gonna try and get one doing this deal…if they even have any! We’ll see how it goes! I made sure to find all the correct wording and that products and coupons matched on the LeapFrog website in case they give me a hard time lol!
