National Parks Service Birthday – August 25 – 28

Staring today and running through this weekend, ALL 412 national parks will be waiving the entrance fees for the National Park Service Birthday Centennial! You can find a small list of special events and programs here or check the #FindYourPark website for a full list. The National Park Service also has an easy-to-use directory of parks by name, location, activity and topic.

Entrance fees to National Parks will be waived again on September 24. Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included.

  • September 24: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

Tomorrow, August 25 – you can get FREE entry to Washington State Parks for the National Parks Service birthday. All National parks are also FREE starting tomorrow through Sunday, August 28. The Discover Pass is not required to visit state parks on free days.

Upcoming 2016 State Parks free days include:

  • Sept. 24: National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day

Please note: A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife during State Parks free days.
