FREE admission to National Parks, Today, January 16

Today only, more than 100 national parks are waiving the entrance fees today in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Go to the National Park Service website for a list of participating parks. The National Park Service also has an easy-to-use directory of parks by name, location, activity and topic.

Entrance fees to National Parks will be waived again on February 20 for Presidents’ Day. Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included.

  • January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 20: Presidents’ Day
  • April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 30: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend

Washington State Parks – FREE Weekend

Through Monday, you can get FREE entry to Washington State Parks in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Discover Pass is not required to visit state parks on free days.

Upcoming Washington State Discover Pass Free Days for 2017 include:

  • Mar. 19 — State Park’s 104th birthday
  • April 15  — Spring day
  • April 22 — Earth Day
  • June 3 — National Trails Day
  • June 10 — National Get Outdoors Day
  • Aug. 25 — National Park Service 101st Birthday
  • Sept. 30 — National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
  • Nov. 24 — Autumn day

Please note: A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife during State Parks free days. If you are Bank of America or Merrill Lynch account holder and have a Bank of America debit or credit card, you can get into more than 150 museums for FREE this weekend, January 7 – 8. As part of their Museum on Us program – just show your photo ID and your Bank of America/Merrill Lynch card to get in FREE at participating museums.

Bank of America has also recently rolled out its Museums on Us site for mobile. You can check it out here on your mobile phone: http://museums.bankofamerica.com. It’s great for people who are traveling and want to check out if the city they are visiting has a participating museums.
