Washington State Parks – FREE Day

This Friday, April 22 – you can get FREE entry to Washington State Parks for Earth Day. The Discover Pass is not required to visit state parks on free days.

The following are the 2016 State Parks free days:

  • May 8: Sunday Spring Day
  • June 4: National Trails Day
  • June 11: National Get Outdoors Day
  • Aug. 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • Sept. 24: National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day

Please note: A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife during State Parks free days. Sno-Park permits are still required on free days at designated Sno-Parks during the winter season. Learn more about the Discover Pass and Free days here.

Speaking of Parks – more than 100 national parks are waiving the entrance fees for National Park Week through Sunday, April 24! Go to the National Park Service website for a list of participating parks. We love the National Park system so much – amazing vistas, wonderful educational programs, helpful volunteers and so much more!

National Park Week – April 16 – 24

Next week, more than 100 national parks will be waiving the entrance fees for National Park Week! Go to the National Park Service website for a list of participating parks. The National Park Service also has an easy-to-use directory of parks by name, location, activity and topic.

Entrance fees to National Parks will be waived again from August 25 through 28. Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included.

  • April 16 through 24: National Park Week
  • August 25 through 28: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 24: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day
