FREE admission to National Parks, Today only!

National Parks FREE Day – January 15

Today, January 15, more than 100 national parks are waiving the entrance fees in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Go to the National Park Service website for a list of participating parks. The National Park Service also has an easy-to-use directory of parks by name, location, activity and topic.

Entrance fees to National Parks will be waived again on April 21 for the first day of National Park Week. Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included.

  • January 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • April 21: First day of National Park Week
  • September 22: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

Washington State Parks – FREE Day

Today, January 15, 2018 – you can get FREE entry to Washington State Parks in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Discover Pass is not required to visit state parks on free days.

Upcoming Washington State Discover Pass Free Days for 2018 include:

  • March 19 — State Park’s 105th birthday
  • April 14  — Spring day
  • April 22 — Earth Day
  • June 2 — National Trails Day
  • June 9 — National Get Outdoors Day
  • June 10 — Fishing Day
  • Aug. 25 — National Park Service 102nd Birthday
  • Sept. 29 — National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
  • Nov. 23 — Autumn day

Please note: A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife during State Parks free days. Washington State Parks – FREE Day

Today, January 1, 2018 – you can get FREE entry to Washington State Parks for First Day Hikes. The Discover Pass is not required to visit state parks on free days. There will be free guided hikes, snowshoe trips and fat-tire bike rides – you can check out a list of the guided tours available by county here.

This program is available in State Parks across the country. For a list of participating parks in your state, check out this list of FREE Guided First Day Hikes across America.
