As a family some of our favorite gifts are experiences, so we put together a list of our favorite Experience Gift Ideas for Kids, for Washington state! These are especially great for making memories with your kids, grandkids, nephews or nieces or other kiddos in your life!
Before we jump into the Washington Experience Gifts for Kids, here are tips for finding experience gifts in your area:
Check for classes your children might want to attend at your local community center, parks and recreation department, or YMCA.
Do you have an indoor swimming pool nearby? A pass or ticketbook to one of these pools is a fun way for kids to stay active! (Check out the pool at the Federal Way Community Center – it even has a two story water slide!)
Check your local movie theaters for tickets or passes – if you gift them early enough in the day, your whole family can catch a Christmas movie together! You can also get gift cards through Fandango or pick passes up at Costco (either online or at the store).
Pick up tickets for a local children’s play! The largest children’s theater in the area is the Seattle Children’s Theatre, but there’s theaters all around the area.
Do you have a child who loves to dance and the romance of the ballet? Check out your local dance theater for tickets – The Nutcracker is the perennial favorite, of course, but check out others – for example, Ballet Northwest in Olympia is also presenting Cinderella and Don Quixote this season!
Concert tickets would be amazing for a teenager – check out Ticketmaster for performers like Ariana Grande and Maroon 5, who are playing in Seattle next year. You can also pick up Ticketmaster gift cards at your local grocery store (which can potentially earn you gas rewards!)
In the admission prices below, we’ve included the different tiers of tickets as defined by the location. These prices don’t include any extras. Most locations have different tiers of membership as well – we’ve included the price for basic membership for a family (typically includes two adults and all children of a household).
If you plan to go to a certain attraction several times a year, you’ll find that a membership will give you more bang for your buck – it will generally cost less per visit than paying each time you go, plus you’ll generally get additional perks. However, if you think your family might just go once or twice a year – paying for individual tickets would be the way to go, plus you don’t have to pay a large amount of money up front.
