Queen Bee reader Angela emailed me to tell me about this awesome deal she found at Goodwill.
I love to shop at Goodwill and your recent posts have been inspiring me to always pay attention to the color of the tag that is 50% off.
Today I went to my local Goodwill. Honestly, they tend to overprice name brands, BUT since this adorable Lucy jacket was 50% off I paid $12.50 (plus tax)!! The lucy tags are still on. Full price was $98. Woohoo!
This is a great example of making the most of the 50% off tags to find bargains. $12.50 would be a lot to shell out for some brands – but for a NEW jacket retailing at $98, this is a STEAL. Look at brands, look at condition and consider the “value” in the item. You can see this same Lucy jacket online going for $98!
Great job Angela!
Secondhand Sunday is a series I’m doing to feature deals that readers are finding secondhand – either at a thrift shop, garage sale or on Craigslist. It’s to encourage us all to consider secondhand purchases when we try to save money. Angela will get a $10 Amazon gift card for sending in her secondhand treasure!
Send in your secondhand treasures and if I feature your score here on the blog, you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- I’ll be featuring one secondhand score each Sunday
- If I feature your thrift-store or garage sale treasure here on the blog you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- Please email me a photo at thehive@queenbeetoday.com – include in the email a short description of what you found secondhand, what you paid for it and what you think it retails for. Use subject line Secondhand Treasure when you send the email.
- Try to take a photo that is not blurry and is in good light (try natural light, no flash, if possible). The better your photo the more likely it will be to make it on the site. People want to see what you got!
- If you bought something secondhand and restored it or improved it somehow – I’d love before and after photos!
I’d love to hear – what sort of furniture have you scored for FREE or cheap on Craigslist or at garage sales?!
