Don’t toss that empty International Delight creamer bottle! They make awesome bubble blowers and they couldn’t be easier to make. I like them as bubble blowers because the pour spout in the lid is the perfect size for your mouth and they are easy for little kids to handle.
International Delight Bubble Blower
- Use an empty International Delight Creamer bottle. I think the larger size makes bigger bubbles, but any size will work.
- Rinse well.
- Remove outside label
- Decorate if you’d like! You can color on it with permanent markers or add stickers.
- Cut off bottom of bottle using a pair of kitchen shears (have an adult do this)
Homemade Bubble Recipe
You can either use your store bought bubbles or make your own. I got this recipe from my kids preschool and it works awesome and lasts a long time.
4 Cups water
1/2 Cup Dawn dish soap
1/8 – 1/2 Cup liquid glycerin (find it at a drugstore like Rite Aid or Walgreens)
It’s expensive, so I tried 1/8 Cup first. If you don’t like the results and want better bubbles, try 1/2 Cup of glycerin
It’s recommended you make the bubble solution at least 24 hours before you use it – as it supposedly binds and gets stronger. We played with it right away and thought it was still pretty great! Store the bubbles in a plastic container with a flat bottom. I used a plastic drawer from a storage container (under $2 at your local Target). This is much harder for kids to dump over!
It’s easy for kids to hang on to and easy to dip into the bubble solution.
And easy to blow into.
And fun to watch.
You can make one for each of the kids and have contests to see who can blow the biggest bubbles. It’s all sorts of fun and will entertain your kids while you sit back with an International Delight iced coffee this summer!
What do you think? Will you try this with your left over International Delight creamer bottles?
