In this house we aren’t afraid of messes. I soak up the days when my kids are running around the backyard, digging in the dirt, splashing in the puddles and playing with the chickens. They usually find a water source – mixing dirt with water – because everything is more fun with mud, right? I grew up playing outdoors in Alaska and I truly believe that fresh air and a healthy supply of dirt will do any person good – child or adult!
But what about those clothes? What about the clothing embedded with mud, rocks and dirt? Play clothes or school clothes – I want them to come out clean with minimal effort on my part. So when Tide asked us to try out their newest formulas – Tide + Collection products I jumped at the opportunity!
The new Tide+ Collections include:
- Coldwater Clean
- Tide with Downy
- Tide with Febreze Freshness
- Tide Plus Frebreze Sport
- Tide Plus Bleach Alternative
- Tide Plus Ultra Stain Release
This last week we’ve received a ton of rain in Western Washington (surprise, surprise?) and our backyard is a muddy mess. Which translates to muddy kids who play in the muddy mess. I decided to try out the Coldwater Clean detergent on my kid’s clothing that needed some serious love.
Here are some before photos. . .
You cringing yet? There is a lot of FUN smashed into those knees. So what happens after I wash them? Let me first say that we don’t have a fancy washer and dryer. It’s ancient (you know top loading, manual knobs, etc.) and I just can’t justify replacing it until it breaks. And these clothes are NOT brand new – they are play clothes and some of them were even purchased at thrift stores – so they aren’t even close to new. . .
I used the Tide Ultra Stain Release and was pleasantly surprised when the clothes finished the spin cycle!
They came out without any signs of the party they’d just had in the backyard. I was especially surprised with the light pair of jeans on the right – I thought for sure those would be stained.
Even the shirts came clean! Now if only Tide would come up with a detergent that would strengthen the knees in little boys jeans – can you even imagine the party all moms would throw??
In addition to trying out the new Tide+ Collection, I wanted to share TWO giveaways with you!
ENTER TO WIN A FANCY NEW WASHER AND DRYER
Tide has partnered with Albertsons to give away a brand new HE washer and dryer from Albertsons! All you have to do is pick your favorite image and provide a caption to be entered! I know all of you are super creative and clever – so I’m hoping it’s a Queen Bee reader who wins!
ENTER TO WIN A TIDE PRIZE PACKAGE
And finally, I’m giving away a Tide Prize Package that includes three 10-ounce Tide samples and one full-sized Tide product. To enter – leave a comment on this post telling me what stains you have the hardest time getting out.
For a bonus entry – share this post with someone – via Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, word-of-mouth or text message. You get the idea. Leave a separate comment telling me you shared the post. So that’s a total of two entries per person (two comments).
Giveaway ends March 10 at 9 p.m. PST. I’ll pick one random comment and email the winner!
This post is sponsored by Tide. All thoughts, opinion, content and photos of messy children are my own and are genuine (and aren’t the kids cute?).
