Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy.
Good morning! It’s Friday. We are rounding up our Spring Break with both the kids and the husband having to go back to work/school next Monday.
Yesterday we finished painting our bedroom! It was previously a dark purple, here from when we moved in nearly four years ago. It’s been on my list for a long time. For the cost of a can of paint $32 and some primer (which we bought over a year ago, so I don’t remember how much it was) – the room looks a million times better. I’d say total cost was under $100 if you include things like plastic drop clothes, brushes/rollers, etc. I want to get some new curtains, the ones I have also came with the house – so I’ll be watching Goodwill, Amazon and Target clearance! We even had enough paint left to paint a couple walls in a bathroom. The color is totally neutral because we do plan on selling our house in the next year or two.
Home Depot, through April 13, has $5 off Behr Premium Plus Ultra 1-gallon cans or $20 off the 5-gallon buckets. This is the paint that has the primer included. We would have done this, but we bought the primer a long time ago. This discount comes off instantly at checkout.
Oh and if you’re working on building your emergency kit, Home Depot has rolling lawn Rubbermaid bins (32 gallon) for $14.95 right now. I think this seems like a reasonable price and would be great for a portable emergency kit.
Costco has their hanging baskets in!!! We stopped in yesterday for a couple things and I couldn’t help but get some. They are $19.99 and huge. Is it too early to put them out? I will watch the weather and bring them in if it says it will freeze at night. I’m hoping I didn’t jump the gun too early – but I’m ready for Spring!!!
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 12 I’ll have a booth at the NW Family Expo! I would love for you to stop by my booth and say hi! The NW Family EXPO is at the Pacific Sports and Events Center! It starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. This list of activities, exhibitors and presenters is impressive! Military get in FREE and for the rest, tickets are really reasonable. The first 100 people get FREE tickets to Wild Waves theme park!
