Good morning! Ahhhh, it’s Friday. Thank you for showing up every week Friday. You are one of my favorite days of the week. This is my first day without any deadlines or appointments this week and I’m hoping to spend the day with my kids, in the kitchen, tackling my tomatoes, basil and 20+ pounds of peaches. Why yes, I think we will. I’m hoping by the end of the day I have some pesto, roasted marinara sauce and some sort of processed peach (frozen? dried? canned?). A girl can hope. And I’m thinking about taking the kids to see Planes this weekend – anyone go and want to tell me if it was a high flyer or a nose dive of a movie??

I have the Cannon PIXMA MX922 printer you mention and LOVE it! Cannons are renowned for going through ink quickly though so double check ink prices before buying. I refill mine at home so that cuts a lot of costs (and waste).

Hi, Heather! No problem! I know what you mean about the expense. I told my husband, “That’s two hours and $25 I’ll never get back.” 😉 Have fun with your kids, and good luck with all the produce!

I’m afraid Planes was a nosedive for us. I have a four-year-old who is obsessed with Cars, so of course we had to go to see Planes. The 3-D wasn’t so great; there were a couple of very short sections that were geared toward 3-D (the training course), but you’d think the action on racing planes would have been a natural. My kid took his glasses off halfway through it and watched it blurry instead, which he has never done before.
Kind of a slow plot line; my little boy was fidgety and bored through a good bit of the movie. Basically the same plot as Cars, but slower and not as well executed. Honestly, I was looking forward to seeing it, and I left disappointed. Sorry to share bad news, but it might save you a few dollars. My son would have been happier with a toy from the movie. It’s not one we’ll buy on DVD and watch over and over.
Heather Clarke says
Hey Marie – Thanks for the review! Movies are so expensive these days, you hate to pay for one in the theaters that turns out to be a dud. I’ll have to see what other kid’s flicks are out this weekend! Thanks again for leaving a comment.
