Safeway is offering up daily deals all week. Valid one day. Check your local Safeway ad for a complete list of deals. This post only includes the daily deals, I’ll be working on a complete list of ad and coupon match-ups later today.
Wednesday, February 2
DiGiorno Pizza – $2.99, limit two
Pepsi, 2 liter – $0.69, limit two
Here’s a deal scenario:
Buy two DiGiorno pizzas for $5.98
Use coupon from Albertsons ad for a FREE Dreyers ice cream when you buy two DiGiorno pizzas
Get all three (3) items for only $5.98!
You can use the Albertons ad coupon because it’s a MANUFACTURERS coupon, so Safeway can still send it in for redemption. The Safeway coupon policy specifically states they will accept manufacturer coupons with other store logos on them, but you might have trouble depending on your cashier’s training and experience. If you are uncertain, talk to customer service before going through the checkout line and bring the Safeway coupon policy for them to review (specifically #6).
Another deal scenario:
Buy four Pepsi 2 liters
The sale price is limited to two at $0.69 cents
So two will be at regular price, not sure what that will be
Use $1/4 manufacturer coupon from Albertsons ad (back cover).
Final price = ?
Thursday, February 3
Value Red Hot dog buns – $0.49 cents each
Oscar Mayer beef franks 3 lbs – $4.99 each, limit three
Friday February 4
Lucerne chunk cheese, 2 lbs – $3.99, limit three
If you happen to need croutons too, check the deli area for bagged Fresh Gourmet croutons that have peelies for $0.55/1 California cheese. The croutons were $1, not sure what they are priced this week. The Lucerne cheese carries the California cheese logo and should qualify for the coupon. Mine beeped, but the cashier pushed it through.
Nabisco snack crackers – $0.99, limit two
$1/2 coupon from 1/30 SS insert
or $1/2 coupon from the Game Day Playbook coupon book
Final price = as low as $0.50 cents
Saturday, February 5
Rancher’s Reserve Boneless Beef New York Strip Steak – $4.99 a pound
Use $2/1 Rancher’s Reserve coupon from the Joy of Football coupon book
Chateau St. Michelle wine – $8.54
Sunday, February 6
Tostitos chips – $1.44 each, limit 4
$0.55/1 coupon from the 1/30 Smart Source insert
Only = $0.89 cents each
Safeway Select salsa – $1.44 each, limit 4
Use $0.75/1 coupon from the Joy of Football coupon book
Final price = $0.69 cents each

After my success using the Albertson’s coupon for the free ice cream, I got shot down today with the Tostito’s coupon. They “absolutely won’t take any coupon with a competitor’s logo on it” according to the Fairwood store manager. Of course, then I had to test it so I came back in and tried it through the self checkout and it worked just fine. Makes me crazy.

I’m also going to use the $1 off 2 Tostitos coupon in the Albertson’s ad to buy chip on Sunday. They will be $1.44 each on Sunday only. 1.44 x 2 = 2.88 – 1.00 = 1.88 or 0.94 each.

I had success last night with the coupon for free ice cream with two pizzas. I’m going to keep that in mind for the future and keep a look out for deals like that.
Beth says
In regards to the Pepsi, it’s not a good deal because the other 2 ring up at $1.79 each. And you can’t do more than one transaction to buy more 2 liters. The system is only letting 2 2-liters per rewards card.

I used the Oscar Meyer hot dog one from the Albertsons with the 99 sale they had going on with the store coupon worked for me.
Mary says
I think that refers to the $5 or $2 type that are good toward your next purchase of anything. Those they won’t take with another store’s logo. As long as the coupon is good for a specific item (in this case free ice cream with pizza purchase) they will accept it.
Lindsay says
Maybe I’m not understanding Safeway’s coupon policy, but I think #6 reads that they WILL NOT accept… “Safeway will not accept manufacturer coupons (including, but not limited to, coupons issued through a Catalina or other in-store coupon dispenser) that display another retailer’s logo or name unless such coupon is for a specific item with the same product identifiers as the product included in our customer’s purchase transaction.”
Did I miss understand that?
