We are already seeing winter sales and corresponding coupons. Here’s what I think we can expect to see on sale in October.
Candy – This one is a little obvious, but we will see a ton of candy sales along with candy coupons. Expect to pay $0.50 – $1.00 per bag for brand name candy when you combine coupons and sales.
Baking ingredients – We’ll start to see sales on flour, sugar, pie crusts and frostings.
Holiday meals – Gravy, stuffing, dried onions, broth, canned pumpkins and canned vegetables.
Squashes, pumpkins, root vegetables, apples and other seasonal vegetables will be on sale in October.
Make this delicious Roasted Root Vegetable recipe, it is one of my favorites in the whole world!
Breast Cancer awareness month – Watch for extra promotions that “pink” items.
National Seafood month – Sales on crab, shrimp, lobster, scallops and other seafood.
When you do find stock-up prices on non-perishables remember our local food banks can always use donations – especially of high protein foods. And toward the end of the month, watch for food drives collecting holiday food items for local Thanksgiving meal programs.
