Walgreens publishes coupon policy. . .finally!
![]()
Wow, wow Walgreens! Walgreens just released an official coupon policy. . .finally! For those of you who are long-time couponers you know that Walgreens has been really hit-or-miss on what types of coupons they’ll accept. Up until now the corporate answer for coupon questions was that it was up to the local store managers. So you never knew what to expect when you’d shop with coupons at Walgreens! This is a big reason why I stopped shopping at Walgreens regularly – it always seemed to end up in a headache!
Here are the highlights:
- In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons. This means that if you have a $1.50 coupon and the product is $1, the cashier should price adjust the coupon down to the sale price of $1.
- When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- When purchasing multiple items, Walgreens accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.
- When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased. This means you can use a coupon on the FREE one, as long as it doesn’t exceed the value of the two items!
I’m hoping this is a win-win for both Walgreens and it’s loyal customers. Now everyone can be on the same page! Print a copy of this policy and carry it with you, I’m sure it will take some time for all the cashiers to be trained on the complete policy.
Access the Walgreens Coupon Policy here.
Let me know how it goes!
