Target’s Price Matching Policy
Target announced a new price matching policy effective October 1. Here’s nine things you need to know about the new policy.
1. Target price matches 29 retailers
Target stores will match Amazon.com, Kohls.com, Macys.com, Babiesrus.com, Costco.com, Walmart.com and many more retailers. You can see the complete list of retailers here.
2. Price matches are made at the Guest Services desk.
Price matches can’t be made at the regular registers.
3. Target will price match for 14 days after the date of purchase.
You will need to present your original receipt or packing slips for price adjustments after purchase.
4. You need to bring the competitor’s entire printed ad.
You can also show the online price or digital version of the ad on your mobile device for proof of price at the Guest Services desk.
5. Target.com will now price match Target stores.
For Target.com price matches, call Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869. However, Target stores will not price match other Target locations.
6. The price needs to be verified.
The Target team members will verify the competitor’s advertised price and the availability of the item.
7. Price matches are only made on identical items in stock.
The item must be the identical item, brand name, size, weight, color, quantity and model number. It must be in stock at the time of price match.
8. Price matches won’t be made for Black Friday.
Price matches and adjustments will not be allowed for prices from Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving, whether offered by Target or a competitor.
9. Target Cartwheel and coupons cannot be used with a price match.
Manufacturer coupons can be used after a price match is made per Target’s coupon policy.
