Tonight while my family was out running errands we stopped into Walmart so I could pick up some of the FREE Gain laundry sheets. Walmart’s new coupon policy allows you to get overage when the coupon exceeds the value of an item. The Gain laundry sheets are $1.87 and so after you use the $3 Gain coupon from the February 13 Red Plum insert you get more than $1 overage for each one you buy!
While I was there, I spotted these Child of Mine Carter children’s sleepers on clearance for what I thought was $3 (reg. $7). They were on an endcap near the baby products with a big sign that said $7 hanging over them, but the shelf tags said $3. I thought I was getting a great deal at $3, but one of them ended up ringing up $1.75! I would have picked up MORE if I known they were only $1.75. These would make great donations for a local shelter or even for the giving tree next Christmas. (By the way there were LOTS left at the Lacey, WA Walmart when I left tonight.)
So here’s how my transaction shook out:
Four (4) Gain laundry sheets 40 ct @ $1.87 each = $7.48
Used four (4) $3/1 coupons from 2/13 Red Plum insert
Final price = FREE plus $4.52 in overage!
Child of Mine pajamas – $3 (the snowflakes)
Child of Mine pajamas – $1.75 (the hearts)
Final price = $0.23 cents + tax!
So if you go to Walmart and buy a few boxes of Gain laundry sheets and use the $3/1 coupons you could use your overage toward the pajamas and get at least one pair of pajamas for FREE (or more if you find the ones that are $1.75). They had lots of varieties available – including sleep sacks! Stock up for next winter!
Don’t have any Gain coupons? Use $2/1Millstone coffee coupon from 2/13 Red Plum insert to buy the Millstone small packages on sale for $1.64 and get $0.36 overage for each one.
Now this deal was rather serendipitous for us because my husband and I were just talking about how my daughter needed some new pajamas. She’s quickly growing out of her other ones and who ever invented those pajamas that button from top to bottom is NUTS! My little wiggle worm of a daughter makes those button pajamas quite a challenge to get on – gotta love the zipper. I like these thicker pajamas for the baby because she doesn’t sleep with a blanket just yet.
I don’t shop at Walmart often and this is only the second time I’ve even posted about them this year. I’m guessing the clearance varies by region so I can’t guarantee that you’ll find the same clearance at your store but it might be worth checking out.
