I cut my four-year-old son’s hair last night (second time ever) and I started off by forgetting to put the 5/8″ guard on the buzzer. Poor, poor kid. His mom is already a crazy coupon lady and he runs around the house talking about buy one, get one free coupons – but now he has to deal with this! Ha!
The good news – it looks great from the front. I might let it grow out. . . not because I’m too cheap to pay someone to fix it, but the only way to fix it is to shave his poor head. He’ll probably be wearing a hat for a little while when we go out in public. Luckily his hair grows fast.
Apparently I’m not “cut out” to be a home stylist. . Ā .
Do you have a frugal flub? Have you tried to DIY only to find it’s a do-it-yourself disaster?

This has happened to me before and I say do a high and tight hair cut on the poor kid. At least that way you don’t have to worry about keeping a hat on him all the time. š

my hubby would have made me shave him clean… we did that every summer when the boys were little anyway. you could have made the spot bigger to make it look like he had a male patterned baldness problem š could tell people it’s part of his Halloween costume š

whatever you do, it’s a great scrapbook page! š

HA! That makes me feel better…when my son was around 4 I decided to cut his hair myself and it looked so bad that I kept escaping to the hall to laugh, then going back in with a straight face to try to fix it because I didn’t want him to freak out. After that I left it to the pros.
I am a fellow football widow, by the way, and wish you well as we enter this season of practically being a single mom!
