I love summer so much when it comes to finding secondhand deals – whether it’s garage sales, Craigslist or Goodwill – there are tons of deals to be had! I’ve been having great luck at Goodwill lately (I like to share my deals over on Instagram) and I love hearing about the secondhand deals you’re finding, too!
This week I got an email from April – she found these Hunter rain boots for $24.99 at Goodwill. Sounds like a lot for boots – but these retail for upwards of $150 regular price! I’d say she easily saved $100 by buying them at Goodwill and they look like they are in fabulous condition!
Way to go April! I always keep my eyes out for Hunter rain boots on sale – and real discounts are super rare. Especially at this price.
Secondhand Sunday is a series to feature deals that readers are finding secondhand – either at a thrift shop, garage sale or on Craigslist. It’s to encourage us all to consider secondhand purchases when we try to save money. April will get a $10 Amazon gift card for sending in her secondhand treasure!
Here are some of the secondhand treasures we’ve featured:
- Bob Duallie Stroller $20 at consignment sale, retails for $450
- Gucci purse just $14.99, retails for $1,000
- Keurig coffee machine, only $1 at garage sale, received a new one from Keurig (reg. $180)
- Bought old violin for $5, resold for $125!
- Chicco Double Stroller $40, valued at $299
- A FREE Baby Grand Piano valued at $1,000
- Beth saves 97% off a KitchenAid Professional Mixer
- Seneca saves 99% off a Harveys Seatbelt Designer Purse

Send in your secondhand treasures and if I feature your score here on the blog, you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- I’ll be featuring one secondhand score each Sunday
- If I feature your thrift-store or garage sale treasure here on the blog you’ll get a $10 Amazon gift card!
- Please email me a photo at thehive@queenbeetoday.com – include in the email a short description of what you found secondhand, what you paid for it and what you think it retails for. Use subject line Secondhand Treasure when you send the email.
- Try to take a photo that is not blurry and is in good light (try natural light, no flash, if possible). The better your photo the more likely it will be to make it on the site. People want to see what you got!
- If you bought something secondhand and restored it or improved it somehow – I’d love before and after photos!
I’d love to hear – what sort of secondhand deals have you scored lately?
