Almond Tarts Recipe

Almond Tarts recipe

Oh my. Oh my. This Almond Tart recipe is trouble. I challenge you to make them and only eat one, I think it’s actually impossible. They are super delicious. And super easy to make. You can’t really tell from the photo, but they are mini bite size tarts, so great for platter of treats.

1 cup real butter

1 egg

½ tsp. vanilla

2 ½ c. flour

1 ¼ c. powdered sugar

1 tsp. almond extract

1 tsp. salt

Almond paste

Cream butter and sugar; mix well.  Add the egg, extract, vanilla, and salt; mix well.  Add flour.  Line mini muffin pan with petit cups.  Place ¼ tsp. rounded dough into cup.  Place paste on top.  Top paste with ½ tsp. rounded piece of dough.  Press top even in cup and sprinkle with red or green sugar.  Bake at 400 degrees for 6 – 8 minutes.  Tops should be light brown.

  1. Are these solid enough to stack in a bag for exchanging or are the tops soft and squishy?

  2. I bet these would also be delicious with some jam instead of the almond paste!

  3. Are these soft, chewy or crunchy?

  4. How much almond paste do you put in each cup?

  5. I am sure that if you top these with some chocolate…you would have an Almond Joy! 🙂 Yummy

Is the almond paste something you can buy in the grocery store? I am not familiar with baking ingredients but I want to try this one. I love almonds and these look so yummy!
