How to keep your guacamole from turning brown

Here is a wonderful tip for keeping a bowl of guacamole from turning brown at your next party or football game. Top your guacamole with thinly sliced layer of limes for a pretty presentation, great flavor and keep the air from turning your guacamole brown! You can also add lime juice into the guacamole itself.

Here is our basic guacamole recipes:

  • 2-3 avocados
  • juice of one lime
  • cilantro
  • optional: onions, jalapeño, cayenne, cumin, peppers

  1. Kim Harbaugh says

It stays nice in a tightly sealed mason jar, I never had luck with the pit keeping it from turning brown but the mason jar worked really well.

  2. If you use ceramic knifes and bamboo bowl with bamboo spoon then it will never turn brown, same goes for apples

  3. You can also leave the pits in the dip (nice decoration to have 2-3 along the top, with a bit of fresh cilantro). Having the pits in the dip will keep it from browning.
