Good morning! How are you doing this morning?
I stayed up late last night writing up the results from day one of the Clutter to Clean in one week. I shared what I cleaned on Monday, the things I got rid of, how I organized certain spaces and more (see Day 1 results here). Yesterday (Tuesday) I cleaned our bedroom closet and dressers – I hope to share those results tonight. It is crazy the transformation. It was easily the worst part of our house and now I just want to pull a chair in there and look around. I won’t lie though – I’m exhausted. Between the massive cleaning, kiddos, and blogging about massive cleaning (and deals) – I’m a bit worn out and it’s only been 2 days. But I’m pushing through. It’s my fault I waited until the last minute and it’s now or never, baby. 🙂
It’s definitely hard to take photos of your “stuff” and share it with the world. I don’t have a new or fancy house. I am not “pretending” to be disorganized – they are real life, not edited beforehand photos. As I mentioned in my results post from yesterday – I think I’m more embarrassed by the excess of it then the disorganization. The fact that we personally have multiple pairs of shoes per person or more than one coat per person in our house – and some people have none of this – is food for thought. I haven’t figured out a way to articulate it just yet – but I can see this is definitely going to be a theme of this process. Less is best. Right now I’m feeling – overwhelmed, accomplished (made it through the first two days) and blessed. I appreciate all the kind comments and encouragement you left for me on the results post and over on Facebook.
Today I’ll be cleaning the kitchen, downstairs bathroom and laundry area and I’ll try to share those results with you tomorrow. 🙂
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day – are you ready? Last week I shared some really cute Valentine ideas last week – DIY Valentine idea for Valentine Marshmallows on a stick. I also shared a Haribo Gummi Bear Valentine from the day before!
And while we’re doing “reality” TV around here – I’ll just tell you – we opted NOT to make of these fancy valentine’s for our kids classes! My kids are 5 and 2 and could care less about what their Valentines looked like. Don’t get me wrong, they loved the sprinkled marshmallows I made last week and ate them right up and we did TRY to make a version of the Haribo Gummi Bear Valentine on Monday night. Here’s how that went for us – we figured we needed 50 Valentines between the two kids and the two parties they have planned this week. The kids started off excited – but after a stuffing a few pieces of candy in bags, then stuffing candy in their mouths – they disappeared to go play and my husband I were stuck standing in the dining room stuffing bags! I decided it was way more work then it really needed to be – even if the other kids at school will have fancier Valentines. Who cares. I picked up two boxes of Valentines at Target for under $7 that include the cards and the candy – and we assembled them before bed last night. The kids colored some personalized Valentine’s for their favorite friends and their teachers and that was it. What a relief. What are you doing this year?

Last night we had salads for dinner. I had found some manager markdown shrimp that we boiled up. We added it to a salad with hard-boiled eggs, carrots, grape tomatoes, feta and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It was good!
Yesterday morning we shared new match-ups – get the latest here: Albertsons Fred Meyer QFC Safeway Winco and the Costco February coupon book! TOP Foods & Haggen will be published later this morning.
