Good morning! I love Saturday mornings. What’s your favorite morning of the week? Any big plans this weekend? I think we plan to drive around and look at some Christmas lights tonight, depending on the weather.
Green Monday? What the heck is this? I’m already getting emails about sales for this Monday. Some of my favorite places like 6pm.com will be offering a discount code and I bet that Amazon will be playing the Green Monday game, too. I still have a few presents to pick up, so I’m hoping we see some good sales. I’ll be here posting the deals and of course will help you sort out the true-blue-deals from the not-so-true-blue-deals.
You can still snag this $5 off $25 coupon from Amazon! I thought it was ending yesterday, but it’s still there! Just start here and enter what is on the top of your holiday gift list and then hit Share and Claim! Your subtotal needs to be at least $25 and it needs to be sold by and shipped by Amazon directly (not a 3rd party seller). This information is right on the product page, under the price.
I’m loving this Elf on the Shelf tradition! So glad we took all of your advice over on Facebook and bought an Elf on the Shelf. This morning the kids woke up to gingerbread house kits thanks to Jack Jingle. We probably would have done these anyway, but this was a fun way to add a little magic to it! Trader Joe’s has these kits for $6-8 each. Cheaper than the ones at Target and I’m guessing they are better ingredients. Safeway also has graham crackers as low as $1.25 a box this week – a great deal if you want to make your own, but I figured once I bought everything we needed it would cost more than the kit and we’d have a lot of extras left over.
Speaking of Trader Joe’s I found some great deals yesterday! It really is a great place to shop for a lot of basics. They have a 3 pound bag of organic pears for $2.99 or a 3 pound bag of rainbow pears (not organic) for $2.99. They have organic apples for $1.25/lb (in a 2 pound bag) and cheap prices on limes/lemons (in the bag). I picked up some brie, so I could make this Baked Brie for a holiday party we are going to this week. Pick up some pears and dip it in the brie. What are your favorite Trader Joe’s deals?

RECIPES & MEAL PLANNING
Tonight is a leftover night. Do you do that very often? It will be a mixture of Chicken Santa Fe, this Quinoa salad and whatever else we can find in the fridge. We will probably eat a light dinner, then drive around to look at Christmas lights and then come home and watch a Christmas movie Netflix with some popcorn or decorate our gingerbread houses from Jack! Simple, but I’m excited for it.

Good mooooooorning 🙂
Lots of good stuff this AM. Thank you for sharing them with us.
I plan to disconnect from all electronics this AM and spend some much needed time with family at a nice little breakfast spot on South Tacoma Way. Sometimes, it’s just nice to turn the electronics off and just be in the moment.
Have a wonderful day.
