I did it. I braved the grand opening crowds at the Lacey, WA Winco and I survived. I found some great prices and actually quite a few coupons around the store. I thought I’d share some potential deals for you, in addition to the grand opening specials that I told you about over here.
Make sure you read Winco’s coupon policy, it’s pretty basic, but good to read beforehand. Although it says they’ll take printable coupons, the cashier gave me a little bit of a hard time about one I was redeeming. She said that it needs to have the hologram appear in the back (which is the light watermark) that appears when you print online. I had printed mine on cheap paper through my laser printer on the draft setting and there wasn’t a watermark, so she claimed it had been copied (which of course it hadn’t). She took it anyway, but said to make sure when I print them that this shows up. Okay. The rep from Winco that I talked to last week said that most stores will take printed coupons unless they experience a lot of fraud and then they will stop. So just make sure NOT to copy your printed coupons and make sure they come from reputable sources like coupons.com, smartsource.com, redplum.com or company Web sites.
Now on to the deals. . .keep in mind – Winco doesn’t put out weekly circulars, their prices can change at anytime from what I understand. So don’t blame me if you go in the store and the prices are different, I just do what I can. š

I had problems using a MFQ on top of their store coupons for the sale items. I argued with 3 cashiers and finally had the supervisor come over to clear the air. All 3 cashiers said they dont take store coupon + MFQ but supervisor told them different. It was really frustrating as I was holding up the line. Otherwise as said before it was a zoo and no carts to be found!! I’m loving the cheap price on Almonds right now and am stocking up for X-mas.

My cashier was great and took the internet printed coupon that scanned but not the one that didn’t (as per their coupon policy). They also had tearpads on the Stove Top stuffing for B4G1 and I can’t recall the indiv. price. Great selection of bread for less than $1/loaf. I was mostly on a scouting trip but got the coupon items- which they had tons of still- and got some bulk peanuts. I was there around 1pm today and it was a zoo. There was a group of people waiting for carts out front so get one in the lot if it looks busy.

I love Winco you should check out there prices for Thanksgiving. When they put out there list of items that they will beat, they actually do it. Like a few years ago I got a spiral sliced ham there for less than $1 a pound. Maybe you should post the list of items that they will beat. Also the bulk food is great I use it for most of my spices especially for the holiday ones that I use only once a year. I got five spices for like $1. The price on honey is usally the best anywhere. The only place that beats them at times is Marlene’s on sale. Plus you can get speciality type of honey.

A few corrections… is the “Pearl” soymilk the “Kikoman” brand? If so, look for $1/1 peelies! Also, there is a PDF coupon for Lindsay olives, which would make them FREE!!!

My cashier refused to take any internet printed coupons. She didn’t even look at them, just saw they were on paper and said they don’t take them.

my issue was that the staff were not very knowledgeable about the products sold in the store. about four employees told me that they dont sell vegatarian meat…which would be very dumb of them in the nw with all the adventists and vegetarian hippies….then i saw veggie pepperoni out of place and it took two more employees to find the veggie section. that is terrible, they should train employees prior to opening so when people are looking they know where to point.

If it’s at all like the one in South Hill, you didn’t miss the organic produce section–it’s pretty limited. That is my only complaint so far with Winco. Otherwise, love it!
