Wow, wow Walgreens! Walgreens just released an official coupon policy. . .finally! For those of you who are long-time couponers you know that Walgreens has been really hit-or-miss on what types of coupons they’ll accept. Up until now the corporate answer for coupon questions was that it was up to the local store managers. So you never knew what to expect when you’d shop with coupons at Walgreens! This is a big reason why I stopped shopping at Walgreens regularly – it always seemed to end up in a headache!
Here are the highlights:
- In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons. This means that if you have a $1.50 coupon and the product is $1, the cashier should price adjust the coupon down to the sale price of $1.
- When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- When purchasing multiple items, Walgreens accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.
- When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased. This means you can use a coupon on the FREE one, as long as it doesn’t exceed the value of the two items!
I’m hoping this is a win-win for both Walgreens and it’s loyal customers. Now everyone can be on the same page! Print a copy of this policy and carry it with you, I’m sure it will take some time for all the cashiers to be trained on the complete policy.
Access the Walgreens Coupon Policy here.
Let me know how it goes!

As part of Walgreen’s 7 days of deals, today’s deal is a FREE photo cling! You can choose between one 11×17 cling, two 8×10 clings (per sheet), and four 5×7 clings (per sheet). I’m tempted to order this just because I haven’t seen a photo promotion on a photo cling before. I wonder if you have a business if you could make a photo cling of your logo and put in your car window?
Only one photo cling per customer. Valid for one use per account August 18, 2010 only. You’ll have to pay shipping costs. Leave a comment if you do the deal and you find out what shipping is.
Plus, NEW Walgreens customers get 25 FREE prints!

I went to Walgreens yesterday to get the money making Nivea body wash that I told you about on Sunday. Unfortunately the body wash didn’t ring up BOGO for me, so I didn’t get it (did it work for you?). But I DID get these items, which will net a profit of up to $7.11 after rebate!

I was excited to find Tom’s of Maine lavender long-lasting roll-on deodorant on clearance at my local Walgreens for only $2.49. I used the $1/1 coupon from the 6/13 Smart Source insert to pay only $1.49! It was $4.99 regular price, and you rarely find it for less than $2 even with coupon.
Plus, I bought a Schick Hydro Razor and two Reach toothbrushes that provided enough overage to cover the cost of the deodorant. Check out your local Walgreens! Leave a comment if you find any, I was only able to find one and it was on an end-cap.

Update 6/15 – I tried this yesterday and the body wash DID NOT ring up buy one, get one FREE for me. Did it for you? This might have been a one-day overlap deal/price mistake on Sunday.
Walgreens has Nivea for Men Active 3 body wash on sale for buy one, get one FREE. Combine this with coupons and register rewards and it’s FREE, plus a money maker!

Now through June 12 you can get a FREE card from Walgreens by using the code DADCARD at checkout. Click on Photo and you’ll see the link to the FREE card in the bottom left corner! Make sure and choose a “folded card” when you go to make your card. Pick it up at your local store and you won’t have to pay any shipping! Totally FREE, love it!
Through tomorrow, May 22, you can get 60 prints (4×6) for only $6.99. This is only 11.5 cents a print (cheaper than Costco!), and you can print them up at your closest Walgreens store so you don’t pay shipping. Enter code SUNNY at checkout!
I have to admit, I haven’t done a Walgreen’s match-up in ages! I’ve been out of the loop, but I’m hoping to start doing them weekly. If I can’t pull one together, I’ll link to another one on a favorite blog, so you aren’t left hanging. I’m no expert at Walgreens, so if I miss a deal – send it my way!
If you found yourself with a bunch of useless children’s medicines after last week’s massive recall, you’ll be happy to know that both Walgreens and CVS are accepting the recalled items (used or not) back for store credit or cash. If you have the receipt from your purchase, you’ll get cash, but if you don’t have a receipt you’ll get store credit. I think this is very generous of these stores – it’s expensive stuff!
I LOVE these kinds of freebies – they are super easy. Walgreens is offering a FREE 8×10 collage print now through May 8. Limit one per customer. Use the code GOODTHOUGHTS at checkout. Pick it up in store and you won’t pay any shipping fees – completely FREE! What a good “extra” for a Mother’s Day gift or just to highlight some spring pics you have hanging out on your computer.
The new Walgreens May Coupon booklet will be available tomorrow, 4/25. The coupons are valid 4/25 – 5/29. As Walgreens store coupons the coupons in this book can usually be combined with manufacturer coupons! Check out the coupons that will be in the book. . .
