Fine print: Items need to be purchased between 9/9/12 (tomorrow!) and 9/22/12. Offer expires 9/22/12. Offer is limited to one per household. All requests/orders must by postmarked by 10/6/12 and be received by 10/13/12. No post office box addresses allowed, only street or rural route addresses are accepted (they do this to prevent fraud). Allow up to eight weeks from receipt of request to send your rebate.
Here are few things to remember about mail-in rebates:
- Mail-in rebates are awesome – but remember, they are not guaranteed. You are trusting that your rebate form and proof of purchase is not lost in the mail and that your request is not denied (for whatever reason). I recommend NOT doing a rebate if you can’t afford for it to not work out.
- Make copies of everything you send in. This will help, if for whatever reason your rebate request is denied. Make a copy of your rebate form, the receipt and write down any UPCs that you used. Keep the copies of your rebate in a folder labeled pending rebates.
- Follow the instructions exactly. Do exactly as the rebate form says. Any variation or missed step can result in your rebate denied.
- Pay close attention to postmark dates. Items generally need to be purchased by a certain date and the rebate info mailed by a certain date.
- Keep products together until check comes. If you are very worried about NOT being reimbursed for any reason, you COULD make a copy of everything you mailed in and keep all the products in a bag(s) until your check comes in about eight weeks. If you are denied or the rebate is lost you can always return the unused items to the store. Check your local store for return policies (of course this wouldn’t work for things like the yogurt or frozen smoothies on this rebate).
So what do you think – are you going to do this rebate?
Becky Cozean says
Wondering where my rebate is. Sent it Sept.14th.
Erica says
Does anyone know if we have to cut the UPCs off the products and mail them in with this rebate. I have read it over a million times and it doesn’t seem like this is a requirement. It will be difficult to send in the yogurt UPCs and besides, it is nice to keep the products in original pkgs. If anyone has an answer, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
Jeanette says
It says to write the upc code off the product next to the item on your original receipt
Erica says
Okay that’s what I did but I just wanted to make sure that’s what everyone else was doing.
Sandie says
In regards to keeping copies of everything you send in, I take pictures with my phone and then I can e-mail them the information when any questions arise. I take a picture of the products, receipt, form, cut off UPC’s, my envelope with the stamp on it, everything! Then there is never any question asked, have never not received the requested rebate.
Heather says
That’s a great idea Sandie!

I mailed in rebate form in late part of June, but still have not received my check yet. Please advise. Thanks.

I didn’t get the Smart Source insert either. Is there another place to get it?
Angie says
I didn’t get the Smart Source insert for Safeway rebate in the Spokane paper. Did any one get it in Washington?
lana says
Argh! I didn’t get one on the eastside 🙁 Anyone has a spare rebate form? Will send a SASE. Please email at dealhipster@gmail.com. Thank you!
Jane says
It was not in my paper either. Anyone else have an extra that they can send me? I can send you postage through pay pal. I am in Spokane, WA akjk 1999 at gmail dot com (no spaces)
Jenn says

Brittany Byrd says
I’m just looking for clarification. It says i can buy one of each flavor of product correct?
Heather says
I would only buy ONE of each item (any flavor). It’s a max of $40 – so one of each.
Kelsey says
A person in a FB group of mine who messaged and wanted to know if you can use this rebate if you pay with a EBT card. Do you happen to know if you can get a rebate regardless of payment type?
Heather says
I don’t know the answer to that question, but there is a phone number on the rebate you can call and ask. That will be your best bet for a reliable answer. 🙂
faith says
I emailed them directly about this.
I was told they would honor it if the rebate items were purchased with the EBT card.
sally says
I also did the rebate this spring and never got the rebate check–don’t think I’ll do it again!
Sarah B says
I got mine in the mail today.
Sarah B says

Try me free rebate at Safeway from 6/20-6/27
Heather says
Thanks, Sarah! Maybe if more people call and/or email they will get on the ball!
Mary says
Absolutely. I understand how unreliable rebates can be but lately they have been very good. The one that I had a problem with, I just sent them an email with my copies and the check showed up within a couple of weeks.
KShauers says
Yep, didn’t get mine either…i made copies of everything, i called last week..they said it would be here in another week….it’s been that, plus…still no rebate.
Heather says
What rebate was this? Do you have the contact information? Perhaps you can list it here – then others could call who don’t have copies of their paperwork. Thank you!
tracy w says

Rochelle says
I got my check. It did take a couple months but I got it 🙂

I submitted for the last Safeway rebate, I believe it was back in the spring time. I received my check within the allotted time frame and had no problems.
