Rachel was one of the first people to send in her favorite holiday recipe, Fresh Cranberry Salad. We made it this past weekend and we really enjoyed it. I think it would be amazing with a hot slice of turkey. You’ll have to excuse the photo, we should have put it in a pretty mold or something – next time we will! We found it tasted delicious even without a fancy presentation.
Rachel said the recipe is a Thanksgiving Tradition in her family and the recipe is from her grandmother Kathy M.
INGREDIENTS
1 box 6 oz Cherry JELL-O
1/2 sugar (for JELL-O)
1 pkg. cleaned fresh cranberries (ground up, food processor or grated finely works best)
1/2 cup broken nut meats (ground up)
We used pecans
3/4 cup small marshmallows
2 large apples (ground up)
DIRECTIONS
Dissolve one box of 6 oz Cherry JELL-O and 1/2 cup sugar in 3/4 cups of boiling water.
Add ice cubes to cool.
Add all ingredients to JELL-O. Mix all together in a large bowl or a mold
Chill until set.
Eat and Enjoy!
