My shopping trip today at QFC and my son in the background. Poor kid will be so confused when he grows up and realizes not everyone takes photos of their groceries before eating them. 🙂Â
Anyone else loving the Kroger sales lately? The buy 10, save $5 promotion has some sweet deals. I went to QFC today (a Kroger store) and spent $32.04 and saved $87.83. The best part? I bought only things my family likes and will actually make meals!
Here is a round-up of what I got:
Gallon of Horizon organic milk only $2.79 on mark down (sell by date February 7)
Four (4) bags of Kraft shredded cheese (8 oz) – $1.79 on manager markdown (good through May 11)
Used $0.55/2 Kraft cheese coupon from a past insert or magazine, not sure where I got it.
Used $0.50/2 Kraft cheese coupon (use zip code 75037)
Final price = average of $1.53 a bag
Fresh Express spinach clam shell – $2.99 each on manager markdown (sell by February 4)
Driscoll’s Strawberries, 1 lb – FREE
FREE with a $5 purchase, QFC coupon that came in the mail!
Five (5) colored bell peppers – $1 each
11 avocados – $0.49 cents each = $5.39, yum! Stock-up price.
Making this Grapefruit, Avocado salad and guacamole for the Super Bowl! And of course they’ll go great with those peppers when I make fajitas.
Cantaloupe – $0.79 cents a pound = $3.11
My son just asked if he could have some antelope. Ha!
Eight (8) Mom’s Best cereal – $0.99 when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
Plus used four (4) printable coupons for $1/2 Mom’s Best product
I registered both my email addresses, print two per computer.
Final price = $0.49 cents each!
Two (2) Honey Bunches of Oats – $1.99, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
Used two $1/1 Honey Bunches of Oats coupons (No longer available, sorry!)
Final price = $0.99 cents each
Two (2) Goldfish crackers – $0.99 cents, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
Two (2) Hunts tomatoes –Â $0.59 cents, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
Three (3) Balance bars – $0.49 cents each, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
$1/3 Balance Bar printable
Final Price = $0.16 each
Two (2) Pearl olives – $1.50 a can
$1.50/2 printable coupon for Pearl Olives
Final price = $0.75 cents a can
Four (4) Ortega Taco Shells – $1.50 each
Used four (4) $1/1 red Ortega peelies right on the product! Good on any Ortega product except seasonings or chiles.
Final price = $0.50 cents each
Mission tortillas – $1.49, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
$1/1 printable coupon (No longer available?)
Final price = $0.49 cents
AND this product had a peelie on it for $1/2 Mission products (see photo above). Since I already had the $1/1 coupon that I was using, I ended up using the peelie on two packages of Mission tortillas:
Two (2) Mission flour tortillas – $1.49, when purchased as part of buy 10, save $5 promotion
$1/2 peelie from tortilla chips (see above)
Final price = $0.99 cents each
I think that’s it! I made my total even lower by using a $5/$50 QFC coupon that came in the mail – they scan it before all manufacturer coupons. And, I had a $5 off your purchase catalina from Safeway – and Kroger stores take competitors catalinas! There are also $5/$50 QFC coupons in the Entertainment book – so don’t forget those!
I spotted a new tear pad for $0.75 off any two Starkist Tuna Pouch Products. Current price was $1.50 – so that makes them only $1.13 a pouch. I haven’t priced these out in awhile so I’m not sure if it’s a good deal or not?
I also saw tear pads for $0.55/1 20 oz Dr. Pepper, in the refrigerated individual beverage section.
Remember manager markdowns, clearance items and coupon selection varies by store. You may not find the same deals that I did today at your local QFC. See a complete round-up of QFC deals here.
I’d love to hear about deals you’ve been finding lately!

I’m wondering about freezing milk. I’ve never done it. How do you do it? I still have lots of bags of shredded cheese in my freezer from a good sale last fall.
Heather says
I haven’t done it personally. I hear that it works if you pour some of it out – so it doesn’t overflow when it freezes?
p.s. Hi Patrice! Glad to see you here!

I got a case of 252 pamper’s swaddlers at the grocery outlet yesterday for 31.99. I haven’t priced matched diapers in years but it seemed like a deal i couldn’t pass up. And my safeway (bremerton) had a bunch of starbucks coffee 50% off 9.99 but they happened to be on sale for $7.99 in the coffee isle. so I checked my receipt and got the sale price 7.99 and at the bottom of my receipt I had a misc. 5.00 off also. so I got it for only 2.99 🙂

Awesome deals! I just went shopping on Tuesday so I don’t need to go again but this makes me want to! LOL

Just a quick note – on the $5 cats from Hallmark purchases at Safeway – mine were STORE coupons – not Manufacturers (I was red in the face when a manager came over at Fred Meyer and I Realized it was a store coupon! I really wasn’t trying to pull one over!)
Heather says
Oh that’s good to know! Usually those are manufacturer coupons! Good reminder to check that.
