Rise and Shine March 10 – Weddings invitations on a budget, Costco garden deals, great deal on dehydrator

Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy.

Good morning! How was your weekend? My husband was out of town at a football coaching conference, so the kids and I had a nice relaxing weekend hanging out around the house. We hit up the library on Saturday and the kids got library cards and a big stack of books. I got some gardening and cookbooks – my favorite. Yesterday the weather was nice enough that the kids played outside in the backyard for a couple hours in the afternoon – I think it did all of us some good!

And this daylight savings time – oye, we all woke up later than we would have liked this morning!!

Saturday morning I published the first of a 7-week series focused on Weddings on a Budget! This week we covered everything you might need to know about Wedding Invitations! Since I’m not an expert in this area, I recruited my friend Rebecca from New Creations Wedding Design & Coordination and one of Seattle’s Premiere Wedding Coordinators to tell us everything she knows! Expect the next article next Saturday morning!

Last week when I stopped into Costco to price out the March Costco Coupon Book, I scoped out all the Costco garden and yard tool deals. They have some great prices and it’s nice to have a list to compare to the Home Depot and Lowe’s ads!

Friday night I shared my Goodwill shopping trip – where I found some amazing deals on brand name items! I spent around $23 for what would have retailed for about $240!  See my shopping trip here.

Yesterday I posted a bunch of new Amazon deals – they seem to come in waves – so I’m hoping this means Amazon has more markdowns in store for us this week.

  1. Beth Johnson says:

I priced the half pint jars at Wal Mart this morning. The off brand was $6.79 a dozen, and the Kerr was a lot more, no Ball brand in that size at my store. I ordered 3 doz from Amazon, thanks for the tip! Also fixed my homemade chicken feeder today. It’s a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom and a Dollar store divided serving tray on the bottom. The 2 year-old tray was done, so I replaced it. How are your ladies doing?

    • Thanks for the tip on the jars! The Amazon deal sure seems like it’s great.

Can you send me a photo of your homemade chicken feeder? I’m trying to picture what it looks like – but can’t! It sounds interesting. My ladies are doing great. No news is probably good news when it comes to the coop. I need to upload some new photos and give everyone an update. . .maybe someday soon!
