Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. Published Monday through Friday – as I’m able.
Good morning! How are you today? How is your week going so far? Yesterday was the last day to tag items for my local LMNOP consignment sale, so I wrapped up that yesterday – glad to get items tagged for sale and moved to the garage. I’ll drop them off at the sale tomorrow and pick up what doesn’t sell on Sunday. Mostly I’m thrilled because the sale encouraged us to go through the kids rooms and the house – what didn’t get listed for consignment was donated to Goodwill or gifted to friends/family! Last week we took a few loads to Goodwill and today I have two more garbage bags of items to donate. I’m hoping to keep a bag going at all times that I can toss items into – and donate a bag every few weeks at least – I think it helps keep things less cluttered and the burden of stuff is a real one for me.
No crockpot meals for me yesterday – Mr. Q Bee picked up teriyaki and miso soup for dinner. Because, my friends, some days – you deserve a break, even from the crockpot. It’s one of my kids favorite meals, it’s cheaper than dining in at a restaurant, and it’s something I haven’t been able to master making at home. So after cleaning both kids rooms yesterday, finishing consignment tagging, cleaning the house and homework – it was a welcomed treat! I like making dining out (or in this instance, take-in) a special occasion instead of a result of poor planning, and that’s exactly what this was. 🙂
We are getting our furnace serviced today. Although we haven’t turned it on for the season yet – it’s making a very LOUD buzzing noise. I’ve looked inside, I’ve changed the filter, I’ve given it a gentle thump on the top and sizes – and surprisingly this didn’t fix it. HA! It still works – if I turn it on, it blows warm air, but the buzzing is NOT normal. So I’m calling in the experts and I’m hoping the experts (and the fix) are not expensive. 🙂 Hoping. Hoping. If you’re in the northwest, have you turned your heat on yet this fall?
